Every single person that you have done business with in the last year should get a postcard.
One of my favorite go to marketing strategies is sending a box of goodies along with some business cards to a referral partner, which is another business that sends customers they can not help to me.
To make that package really shine, I like to add a few postcards that include a timely message or promote one specific service.
Adding a postcard will make the package look more impressive because it includes one larger format marketing pieces included along with the snacks and business cards.
Most people that open a package are going to at least read the main text on the included postcards. Some of the postcards will be kept for months or years.
Postcards are typically printed 500 to 5,000 at a time and distributed one or two at a time. These should usually be distributed along with a token of your appreciation - such as a high quality snack or even a gift card. There are surely other members of the business community that get leads for products or service that you provide.
These other parties are a valuable source of business for you, and it is imperative that they know what services you offer so that they can provide that information to anybody that needs help. Not only does the business look good by helping out there customer, but the customers referred to you by this other business are typically going to be your best customers because they already need your help and already trust that you are a reputable provider because you were referred to them by another business.
Another great application for postcards is to give one to every customer that has just completed a purchase.
The best part about having a nice variety of postcards on hand is that you can probably use them for several years and you will have the right marketing piece for every occasion.
